Braces for Kids & Tweens
Orthodontics for Kids and Tweens
Super smiles start young!
That’s right, preventive orthodontic guidance can begin as young as seven years of age. This is the best age to avoid more complicated issues, ensure that your child has the most attractive face and profile. a healthy bite and straight teeth.
So, if the child you have in orthodontic treatment now has younger brothers and sisters, or if you have a child between the ages of seven and twelve, we have some great news for you!
As a preventive orthodontic office, we like to examine the children in our patients’ family by age seven. Children within the same family exhibit certain predictable patterns of growth in much the same way they inherit similar eye and hair color. Like other family traits, particular patterns of tooth and jaw development also “run in families.” By making use of early interceptive techniques, we can sometimes prevent any need for full braces at all.
If you think your child needs braces, they probably do.
You need not, and sometimes should not, wait for a referral to Dr. Gittess. We find that general dentists sometimes don’t recognize the same problems that we do, any more than we would recognize some of the problems that they look for in general dentistry. True, we are all dentists, but the specialty of orthodontics is complex and specialized.
In the interest of preventing growing problems, we are happy to offer all initial examinations and follow-up recall visits at no charge. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please tell our Scheduling Coordinator. She will be glad to set up a convenient appointment time for you and even if your child is not quite ready for treatment, they will be enrolled in our Super Cool Kids Club. Be on the look out for more information on this special program just for our young patients.
