There are very few true orthodontic emergencies. When they do occur we are available to take care of the problem. You should call our office in Winter Springs when you experience pain or when you have a painful appliance problem and you can’t take care of it yourself. We will give priority to any patient who requires an emergency orthodontist.
The first week after your braces are in place and adjustments are complete, you will likely feel some pain, soreness or discomfort. You may take acetaminophen or other non-aspirin pain relievers. A warm wash cloth or heating pad may reduce the soreness).
Call our office as soon as possible if you experience any of these problems:
- Bent Facebow (Headgear)
- Headgear Discomfort
- Tooth Discomfort or Soreness
- Loose or Broken Braces
- Loose Appliance / Wire
- Poking Wire
- Loose Band or Bracket
- Lost Elastic Tie
- Lost Retainer
- Accidents Involving the Teeth
Any delays in treatment could make the problem worse. Our emergency orthodontist team will be able to give you advice on how to solve the emergency dental problem yourself or schedule an emergency appointment so that your problem can be fixed in the office.
If you are out of town, we will help you find the nearest emergency orthodontist who can help.
